It costs $59 dollars plus tax a day to rent 4-seater golf carts, and $79 a day for 6-seater golf carts directly from Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. And there is no better way to get around the campgrounds. Cruise to the different playgrounds within Fort Wilderness or cruise to dinner, or catch the boat to Magic Kingdom. Everywhere you go there is plenty of golf cart parking.

Are there any rental restrictions?

Anyone driving the golf cart has to have a valid driver’s license, and they must have their driver’s license on them. You’ll also want to follow the golf cart rules, Disney says: “Golf cart privileges at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground may be revoked from those not abiding by the above rules and regulations.”. You can read all rules here.

Where do you pick it up?

You can pick up the golf cart from the Reception Outpost at the very front of the park. They are available for pick up at 1:00 PM and must be returned by 11:00 AM on the return date.

Should I make reservations?

Yes. Golf carts are sometimes are available for rental first come, first-served, but you can easily make reservations by calling (407) 824-2742 up to a year ahead of time so there is no reason not to. You can only get a 6-seater cart by reservation and even it’s not a given.

What are the golf cart rules?

For the full list of rules check out our golf cart rule list here, below a brief outline:

  • You cannot consume or be under the influence of alcohol, chemical, or controlled substances.
  • A hands free device must be used and you cannot text and drive.
  • Driver must have a valid driver’s license at all times.
  • Children cannot drive or assist at driving at any time.
  • Young children can be held by a passenger.
  • Children cannot sit on the driver’s lap.
  • All passengers must be seated at all times
  • Off-roading is prohibited.
  • Larger vehicles have the right away.

When do you turn it in?

You turn the golf cart in by 11:00 am on the last day of your reservation.

Are there any alternatives?

You can set up outside arrangements if you like. There are a few people in the area that will setup a delivery to Fort Wilderness so you can just meet up and get straight to cruising the fort. The price isn’t really much better until you start getting into week long rentals.

Can I bring my own?

Of course! There are private cart rules you need to follow, but as long as it is a golf cart style, not off-road/atv or utility/construction-type cart and it doesn’t have a maximum speed above 20MPH you’re good.
